Welcome to the VAJRAYANA BUDDHIST CENTER
DAG SHANG KAGYU
Tenga RinpocheDear friends in the Dharma,

From the 13th to 27th June 2008 , the Lord Of Refuge, V.V. Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche is visiting us to grant  the complete transmission of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage Empowerments, which he received from the Lord of Refuge, Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche and from other great teachers. These empowerments mature the minds of the students and introduce us to the mandala of the lineage’s glorious divinities.
The present Tenga Rinpoche was discovered and recognized at the age of seven, and then started with his studies. When he was 19 years old, he took the full ordination vows and received the name Karma Tenzin Thrinle Pal Sangpo.
He received a profound Buddhist education in the Benchen Monastery and the Palpung Monastery, where he studied the tantric rituals and philosophy with different teachers, such as IXº Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, Situ Rinpoche and Jamgön  Kongtrul Rinpoche. He finished his studies with the traditional three-year-retreat.
In 1959, he left Tibet, and after having stayed six months in Kalimpong, he established himself at the Rumtek monastery (the principal seat of H.H. XVIº Gyalwang Karmapa), where he served His Holiness during sixteen years, officiating as the Dordje Lopön (Vajra Master) for the last nine years.
In 1976, Tenga Rinpoche established himself in Swayambhu (Nepal), founding the Berchen Phuntsok Dargyeling Monastery there and his retreat centre in Pharping. Since 1978, he has been travelling widely all over Europe.
V.V. Tenga Rinpoche is one of the few meditation teachers still alive who holds the uninterrupted lineage of the Karma Kagyu Tradition.

Being able to receive the Shangpa Kagyu  lineage transmission here in Spain, is a great event, extremely rare and precious, and we would like to encourage you to participate.
This transmission is an indispensable requisite for the traditional three- year –retreat, but it is also possible to attend the empowerments just for single days although in that case it has only the value of a general blessing empowerment and not of the complete transmission.

Due to the limited lodging capacity of Dag Shang Kagyu, the students who will come for the whole period of time and attend the complete transmission will have priority to lodge at the centre. Likewise, only the students who are lodged in Dag Shang Kagyu can stay for the meals.
In any case, it is absolutely necessary to make a reservation for the programme previously, even if you only want to attend the empowerments without lodging or if you only can come for a few days.
With our best wishes
Yours in the Dharma
