Dag Shang Kagyu is a Buddhist monastery of the Shangpa and Dakpo Kagyu schools, under the guidance of H.E. Kalu Rinpoche and it’s spiritual leader the Ven. Lama Drubgyu Tenpa, but also belong to the Rime or ecumenical movement, in shich all the schools of Vajrayana Buddhism are respected.

The enormous activity of all kinds that we carry out to divulge and spread Buddhism, is made possible by, among other things, the small contributions represented by donations of the members and associates of Dag Shang Kagyu.

These voluntary donations (From a minimum of 12 € to any sum desired) allow us, among other things, to advance in the projects and construction work that are currently being carried out in order to make it possible for us to offer, in the foothills of the Aragonese Pyrenees, an adequate setting for the teaching of the Dharma.

We have a number of finished Stupas (symbols of the Buddha’s mind) and 36 more under construction, a large Temple in which to perform our practices and receive teachings, a Shedra or school, an impressive building, destined to the study of Tibetan language and Tibetan and Bhutanese culture, a large house, small individual retreat houses, an area for long retreats which we expect to create and start using very soon, etc (see our “Visit” page).

Our goal in doing all of this is, ultimately, to benefit all sentient beings, and this can only be done and maintained with the help you contribute when you become a member. We think that this goal alone makes

It worth you while to contribute, because, according to the traditional Buddhist texts, the blessings we accumulate for our spiritual progress by helping to build and maintain a Monastery and everything associated with it are incalculable

We also would like you to know that a percentage of your member’s contribution also goes automatically through the Dag Shang Kagyu Foundation to give humanitarian aid to monasteries India and to needy children.

We wish to thank from the bottom of our hearts all those people who, having opened their hearts and minds to the Dharma, are helping us in this enormous and laborious task in order to benefit all sentient beings.

From all the resident Lamas, with compassion and wisdom:

Sarwa Mangalam!
